Technology has exploded our ways to stay in touch with people, including meeting your potential mate. With online dating sites, specialty dating sites, and now more dating apps on your smartphone, your options to discover the man of your dreams are even bigger.

In a segment on dating trends from the Steve Harvey TV Show, I recently learned of two newer dating apps, Hinge and Hitch. Bela Gandi, the founder of the Smart Dating Academy, featured them on a recent show. Both of these apps use Facebook as their introduction method.

Hinge

The Hinge app matches friends of friends in your Facebook world and sends them to your phone. Of course you can determine the criteria. At the moment it’s only available in selected cities so check their site to see if they are in your city yet.

Hitch

You know that guy you think your best friend would click with, but she refuses to let you set her up?  Now you can. Using Facebook, Hitch allows you to introduce two friends to each other.
