You loved seeing each other’s pictures on Facebook, smiling, laughing, and posing. You got to relive the joy and butterflies in your stomach each time you saw them, and with each comment people made. Unfortunately, now that you had a heart wrenching breakup, it’s time to unfriend your ex on Facebook. The key to finding love with a good man is letting go of what’s already gone.

Reliving the Pain Keeps You Stuck in the Past

That giddy, exciting, and loving feeling you used to have when you saw his updates, or saw pictures you are still tagged in, has now turned to sadness, sorrow, tears, hurt, and anger. Do you really want to relive that pain over, and over, and over, and over? It will do nothing to help you heal, and in fact will keep you stuck in the past. Unfriend your ex on Facebook.

You Aren’t Friends

I know, you are thinking you’d still like to have him in your life. You’ll miss his friendship and how he was so important to you. The problem with that is he moved on, without you, and it’s time to face it. Getting to acceptance is going to take some time, so the first step is letting it hurt and then facing facts that he is living a different life, and it doesn’t include you. Ouch! – I know. Unfriend your ex on Facebook.

His New Girlfriend

If seeing the posts about his life without you, or the pain you feel when photos of him pop up out of nowhere isn’t enough of a clue that it’s time to unfriend him on Facebook and move on – how about the fact that he changed his profile picture to his new girlfriend? Comparing yourself to her, doing your online research to see who she is and how come she is better than you, and what does he see in her that he doesn’t see in you is not going to help you heal.
